WALKABOUTSVERSE 201 OF 230

Poem 201 of 230:  ATLAS SIBLINGS - NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, AND LONDON

Monument’s where Monument is;
    Uni. for uni., park for park,
And fine bridges for fine bridges;
    Plus the way the “T” rivers arc.

WALKABOUTSVERSE 202 OF 230

Poem 202 of 230:  IN HANDS HUMAN

Grey genetics -
    With more-and-more people;
Or organics -
    With human birth-control?

WALKABOUTSVERSE 203 OF 230

Poem 203 of 230:  IN SITU

When faced with a critical view,
    A zoo’s main raison d’ĂȘtre is -
The conservation of species;
    But that should be done in situ.

WALKABOUTSVERSE 204 OF 230

Poem 204 of 230:  ON FISHING REGULATION

It’s not just what’s-taken
    That needs regulation:
Alive, caught fish suffer -
    Sometimes, right till supper;
And, when some fish are farmed,
    Homing instincts are harmed.
But to most it’s insane
    To fret over such pain -
Though as much to a dog
    Would leave many agog.

WALKABOUTSVERSE 205 OF 230

Poem 205 of 230:  SUFFERING

Badger baiting,
                Bull fighting,
                          Fox hunting,
                                    Hare coursing:
                                                Cruel sporting/
                                                             Suffering.

WALKABOUTSVERSE 206 OF 230

Poem 206 of 230:  MY DIET

Chasing breads, nuts, bananas,
    Red sauce, apples, sultanas,
Crackers, conserves, cucumbers,
    Pickles, porridge, pottages -

Lemon barley,
    Cocoa, coffee,
Or cups of tea.

WALKABOUTSVERSE 207 OF 230

Poem 207 of 230:  REGARDING DRUG ABUSE

Whenever I’m feeling bad,
    I try to change my thinking -
Another poem, a fad…
    Or let time do its passing.
For it’s weak to abuse drugs,
And drug abuse weakens mugs…

WALKABOUTSVERSE 208 OF 230

Poem 208 of 230:  THE BOTTLES ON THE WALL

I would say, overall,
    From using libraries
And viewing galleries,
    The twentieth century,
And its technology,
    Saw prose-fiction refine
But art, sadly, decline -
    An accidental fall?

                     P e o p l e
                         Lose.
